Main Street Osoyoos

Osoyoos is famous for lying within Canada’s only true desert, but it is our Main Street that leaves a lasting impression and inspires travellers to stop and take notice of our small community.
A 1.5km stretch of Hwy 3, Main Street was paved in 1948 after the town’s water system was put in place, and is wider than most other small communities’s main thoroughfares. Town founders disagreed with the provincial government and insisted on a “grand scale street” that looked towards beautiful Osoyoos Lake. Today, locals and visitors alike appreciate their persistence while experiencing many main street events including a regular farmers’ market, Cactus Jalopies car show, Trick or Treat Main Street, Christmas Light up and Santa Parade, and the ever popular Cherry Fiesta celebrated on Canada Day, which includes a parade and fireworks attended by more than 8000 people.
Main Street Osoyoos is home to many local businesses providing a variety of shopping, beauty and dining options, as well as tourist attractions like the Osoyoos Museum and the Osoyoos Art Gallery.
An integral part of Osoyoos’ summertime fun in the sun, and year round lifestyle.
